The EPA P3 Senior Design team composed of 4 Industrial and Systems Engineering and 3 Biosystems Engineering students (co-advised by Dr. Blersch and I) presented their posters in Shelby Engineering to the ISE Alumni Council as well as their peers on Friday May 29th. Their counterparts in Biosystems Engineering also successfully defended the project before a panel of faculty on the same morning at CASIC. Good job to all and congratulations on their graduation!
A team of 7 Auburn undergraduate students from Biosystems and Industrial & Systems Engineering exhibited their work at the 2016 USA Science and Engineering Expo in Washington DC (April 15-17, 2016). Their work was in modern 3D-printed biofilter media was very well received: their booth welcomed more than 3,000 people!. An outstanding job by this young crop of Auburn engineers.

Our paper and presentation titled “Understanding attachment preferences of benthic algae through controlled surface topographies on 3D-printed substrata” was given at the 2016 International Conference in Surface Metrology. This event took place in Poznan, Poland between April 4-7th 2016. More information can be found in the conference website or their facebook page.
A tutorial on “Quality issues in additive manufacturing” was delivered to the NASA Academy of Aerospace Quality (AAQ) on September 1, 2015. This was a workshop focused on quality assurance for academic space projects. More information can be found here.
